BRCA1 mutation in the Triple- Negative Breast Cancer Group

چکیده
Material and methods 332 unselected patients with invasive breast cancer diagnosed between 20062011 were identified from Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital, Riga East University hospital databases and clinical data from medical records were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were tested for the two common founder mutations in BRCA1 (4153delA and 5382insC) in Latvia using a multiplexspecific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay.

Comparison of BRCA1 Expression between Triple-Negative and Luminal Breast Tumors
Background: Previous studies have suggested that BRCA1 dysregulation has been shown to have a role in triple-negative phenotypic manifestation. However, differences of BRCA1 expression, as a tumor suppressor gene, have rarely been investigated between luminal and triple-negative breast tumors. Therefore, the present study attempted to compare the BRCA1 expression in triple-negative with lu...
متن کاملFunctional Investigation of the Novel BRCA1variant (Glu1661Gly) byComputationalTools andYeastTranscription Activation Assay
Introduction: Mutations in the BRCA1 gene are major risk factors for breast and ovarian cancers. However, the relationship between some BRCA1 mutations and cancer risk remains largely unknown. Cancer risk predictions could be improved by evaluation of the impairment degree in the BRCA1 functions due to a specific mutation. This study aimed to assess the functional effect of a novel variant (Glu...
متن کاملThe prevalence of BRCA1/2 mutations of triple-negative breast cancer patients in Xinjiang multiple ethnic region of China
BACKGROUND The screening of BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations is now an established component of risk evaluation and management of familial breast cancer, early-onset breast cancer and bilateral breast cancer patients. There is still some controversy about whether this screening should be done in triple-negative breast cancers. Therefore, we evaluated the BRCA mutation prevalence in patients with tripl...

متن کاملBRCA2 Mutations and Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Recently, BRCA1 germline mutations were found in a high proportion (14-34%) of patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). BRCA2 was either not analyzed or showed much lower mutation frequencies. Therefore, we screened a group of TNBC patients (n = 30) of white European descent for mutations in BRCA2 as well as in BRCA1. Cases were unselected for age of disease-onset (median age at brea...
متن کاملPrevalence of Germline Mutations in Genes Engaged in DNA Damage Repair by Homologous Recombination in Patients with Triple-Negative and Hereditary Non-Triple-Negative Breast Cancers
PURPOSE This study sought to assess the prevalence of common germline mutations in several genes engaged in the repair of DNA double-strand break by homologous recombination in patients with triple-negative breast cancers and hereditary non-triple-negative breast cancers. Tumors deficient in this type of DNA damage repair are known to be especially sensitive to DNA cross-linking agents (e.g., p...
